Have your say on West Lindsey’s green ambitions

West Lindsey District Council has an ambition to become a Green Council and that means taking ownership of its own activities and actions.

The Council has drawn up a draft Sustainability, Climate Change and Environment Strategy setting out its priorities and focus for the coming years.

But now it wants to hear from local people if the strategy is ambitious enough and if they believe the Council will be able to reach its target.

Councillor Tracey Coulson, Member Champion for Environment and Climate Change at the Council is passionate about the issue and wants to drive change across the district.

She said: “Earlier in the year we held our first phase of consultation on this work and received lots of ideas and opinions on actions that should be included in the strategy.

“The feedback has been used to shape and develop our draft strategy.

“Now we want to share it with as many people as possible and get your opinions and thoughts on it through our survey.

“Your feedback is very important to us because we want the strategy to have support from across the district if it is to be successful in helping us meet our ambitions.

“Everyone has a part to play in protecting and enhancing our environment and this is something we cannot do alone, we need your support.”

The Council has set a net-zero carbon target across its operations by 2050.

This is important to the council as it will help to address climate change and protect the natural environment that so many of us enjoy.

The feedback will be analysed and the strategy and action plan will be discussed by Council in May 2021.

The survey runs until December 31 and can be accessed at www.west-lindsey.gov.uk/climatesurvey/
