His comments came after an application for a wind farm at Brown’s Holt Farm, between Corringham and Yawthorpe, was withdrawn by the applicant.

The proposal was for eight three-bladed, wind turbines, each up to 140m in height to tip, with associated infrastructure.

In a letter to West Lindsey District Council Dr Sarah Randell of RES, the developer, stated: “We would like to withdraw the application for Brown’s Holt Wind Farm.”

Sir Edward said: “This is yet another victory against these unwanted schemes in our beautiful part of Lincolnshire.

“Eight wind turbines would have blighted our big skies for decades to come.

“I am pleased that Dr Randell has confirmed to the planning authority that they are withdrawing the scheme.

“I and my Conservative colleagues on West Lindsey District Council have a 100 per cent record in seeing off these monsters.”
