To date the Panel has awarded grants totalling more than £55,000 to 28 organisations based and operating in Sleaford or Kirkby La Thorpe. These included £700 towards the purchase of asymmetric bars for Sleaford Gymnastics Club which had been sold off after the World Gymnastics Championships in Glasgow last year. Visiting the club last week, chairman of the Liaison Panel, Coun Garry Titmus, said: “I encourage anyone within the area who needs a bit of help in getting a community project off the ground to step forward and make an application in this final year.”
