Two ‘bonkers’ residents in Dorrington brightened villagers’ Sunday evening when they looked to ‘reach for the skies’ during their daily lockdown exercise routine.

Debs Green managed to get a video of the wacky pair, George Newton and Bill Drury, who decided to liven up proceedings by donning extremely authentic Battle of Britain aircraft costumes and jogging down the main street to raise a smile.

Debs said: “Whilst the lock down is on, some people have been quite resourceful in their efforts to keep engaged with the community and keep cheerful whilst maintaining social distancing.

“The Dorrington community have been having a dance in the street on Sunday evenings at 7pm and this weekend, Bill Drury and George Newton decided to liven up the proceedings and give everyone a laugh.

As well as building and wearing the replica fighter planes in honour of the ‘blitz spirit’ shown by householders during the coronavirus pandemic, they also donned suitable airman’s clothing.
