Epworth garden provides new focal point for visitors
Wesley Memorial Methodist Church in High Street has had the gardens to its front spruced up with the help of a member if its congregation.
The site has been redesigned by churchgoer and professional landscape architect and designer, Stephen Welch.

Hide AdThe gardens were formally opened, as a part of the church harvest celebration which took place recently, by North Lincolnshire Council leader Coun Liz Redfern.
Cash for the whole scheme has been totally funded by donations of materials and labour to an amount in excess of £70,000.
Included in the redesign is a new statue of John Wesley standing on a globe.
The Rev David Leese, superintendent minister at the church, said: “We were told that before the work started we only lacked a ‘Please keep off the grass’ sign.

Hide Ad“The purpose behind the redesign was to provide a heritage garden that would welcome, and provide a focal point for the many international visitors who visit Epworth as a mark of its international status in world Methodism.”
