Epworth pair win £20 voucher in recycling competition
The Waste Services team at North Lincolnshire Council has been running a competition to promote the recycling of small WEEE (Waste Electrical Electronic Equipment) at various festivals, fairs and shows in North Lincolnshire this year.
The competition was to guess the number of small WEEE items that were inside a container.

For each event, the resident that guessed the nearest answer won a £20 voucher. The prizes have been donated by REPIC, the councils approved contractor for electrical waste.
The winners are:
Sue Shields – Messingham
Janet Coambe – Scunthorpe
Rebecca Snowden – Scunthorpe
Stephanie Toon – Scunthorpe
Rebecca Turner – Epworth
Peter May – Scunthorpe
Sarah Anderson – Scunthorpe
Betty Facer – Epworth
Susan Simpson – Messingham
The competition was to promote the recycling of small WEEE such as telephones, chargers, toasters, kettles, torches, mobiles by households. These can be placed in a standard supermarket carrier bag next to your blue and green recycling boxes for collection.
A spokesman said: “Unfortunately we are unable to take items like TV’s and monitors or any item too big to fit into a carrier bag. We can take these through our bulky household item collection service (http://www.northlincs.gov.uk/bins-waste-recycling/additional-waste-services/bulky-collections/) or alternatively these items can be recycled at any of the eight Household Recycling Centres.”
