Everton murder trial: Victim beaten in ‘brutal’ attack and buried alive in ditch
Three people have gone on trial today (Monday) accused of the ‘brutal murder’ of a man who was left to die in a shallow grave in a remote farmland ditch.
Angela Dowling, 48, of Windmill Avenue, Conisbrough, Matthew Duffy, 23, of Sussex Street, Balby and Mark Bingham, 50, of Fishponds Road West, Sheffield have gone on trial at Nottingham Crown Court accused of murdering Alan Jones Easton.
The jury was told that Mr Eaton was beaten, stabbed and buried in a ditch in farmland in Everton in north Notts, possibly while he was still alive.

Hide AdOpening the case for the prosecution, Ian Unsworth QC said: “To put in bluntly he was executed in the dead of the night.”
Stephen Schofield, 31, also of Windmill Avenue, Conisbrough has admitted murdering Mr Easton, 50, from Dumbartonshire.
