Darrell found God while serving a five and a half year prison sentence for his crimes, and now give talks across the country about his experiences.

He gave a thought-provoking speech to the congregation entitled ‘Is there an answer to Bassetlaw’s drug problems?’

His visit came at a poignant time for the district as John Mann is due to launch his second enquiry into drugs and addiction in Bassetlaw.

While Darrell was serving his sentence at HMP Wolds, he attended an Alpha Course he says God broke dramatically into his life.

From that day has made it his mission to spread his story and the word of God to communities.

In particular he reaches out to individuals who consider themselves ‘unreachable’, which is why he chose to focus his Langold talk on the drugs problem in Bassetlaw.

Visitors had the chance to ask questions and engage Darrell in debate throughout the morning.

Darrell is a minister at Hope Corner Community Church in the north west of England. ‘Untouchable’, his book about how his life has been transformed from crime to religion, was published in 2011.
