The new hobby shop, at the charity’s premises on South Street, was opened by five-year-old Jeanie Walsh-Dodd, who was helped by the charity recently.

The new extension sells books, collectables, traditional toys, vintage items, knitting wool, LPs and jewellery.

Charity founder Karen Ward said: “This will complement our existing shop that already sells clothes, shoes, bags, DVDs, bric-a-brac and household items.”

Love Shack (Love for Sick, Homeless and Courageous Kids) was set up in 2003 and looks to help children in Kenya, the UK and Ireland.
