Extra seats on our busy trains
On the Retford to Sheffield route they are increasing the number of seats on three peak time services.
A Northern Rail spokesman said: “We will have more than 200 seats per day for this particular route and we hope this will go some way to easing the overcrowding issue and create a more enjoyable journey experience for our passengers.”

Bassetlaw MP John Mann welcomed the news, saying: “This is long waited good news for people who have to travel by train to Sheffield on a regular basis.”
“The daily misery of overcrowding and lack of capacity has been regular complaint by residents who have to squeeze into a train to get to work and back again.”
“This is not just a value for money issue, it has also been a health and safety concern for travellers especially in the hot summer months.”
“This is a great Christmas gift for our Sheffield commuters.”
