Fake Festivals set to return to its Isle roots

On July 18 Isle Of Axholme Fake Festival will roll into Epworth on Carrside Playing Fields bringing along tributes to Queen, Coldplay and Oasis and five of the best local support bands.

Jez, of Owston Ferry, told Epworth Bells: “It’s great to be back in the Isle after a short absence and I’m looking forward to bringing the tour back to the area where it all started.”

The Fake Festivals tour now visits over 30 locations all over the UK and are operated by ‘licensees’ who operate under the umbrella of Jez and his team.

The Isle of Axholme Fake Festival is licensed to James Simmons and Ian Brittain who are both familiar with the Fake Festivals brand.

The event takes place inside the Fake Festivals marquee which shelters festival goers from the elements of the British weather and houses the stage, PA and lighting rig along with a fully licensed bar.

Outside the Fake Festivals marquee is the food and entertainment area along with tables and chair and quality clean toilets.

Oasish lead singer Paul Higginson said: “I have been on the Fake Festivals tour since 2007 and each year they get bigger and better.

“I’m looking forward to The Isle Of Axholme Fake Festival. I hope everyone has their singing voices ready as we will be belting out some great British anthems.”

The festival starts at 12.30pm and finishes at 11pm.

Previous festival-goers have praised events. Lucy Stewart, who attended last year’s Sandall Park festival, said: “It’s the first one we’ve been to.

“We thought it would be something really fun to do for a change and we like to support local bands.”

The Friends of Sandall Park chair Sandra Crabtree said: “It’s fabulous. It’s great to see the park full of people.

“It’s all about families, every generation attended.

“Jez is so professional – the next day you can’t even tell they’ve been here.”

Early bird tickets are available until June 18, priced £16.50 for 18-year-olds and above, £9 for ten to 17-year-olds and £42 for a family ticket (two adults, two children) from above website.

Advanced tickets are available from June 19 priced £21 (over 18), £11 (ten-17), £53 (family). Admission on the day is £25 (over 18s) and £15 (under 18s) with no family ticket on the door

Under 16-year-olds must be accompanied by a paid adult. Children (0-9 years) are free to enter the festival.

Anyone that buys Isle Of Axholme Fake Festival tickets will be able to register to go to The Big Fake Festival for free, where you can see all 20 of the Fake Festivals touring tribute bands all inside a Big Top at Thoresy Park, Nottinghamshire, with free camping too.
