Boston Musical Theatre Group (formerly Boston Operatic Society) will be at the Spain Lane venue from Saturday, November 17, to Monday, November 19, and on Saturday, November 24.

The musical tells the story of the Von Trapp family after Maria comes to work for the family as a governess.

The governess falls in love with their widowed father, and Maria brings music and song into the home, much to the children’s delight.

The production will feature favourites such as Climb Every Mountain, Do Re Mi, Edelweiss and The Sound Of Music.

A spokesman from Boston Musical Theatre Group said: “The Sound of Music also showcases two teams of seven local children, all very talented, and sure to thrill the audience.”

Director Stuart Bull and musical director Marc Murray have teamed up again for this production, and theatre lovers might remember their award-winning productions of Jesus Christ Superstar, Chess and Annie.
