Farmer holds open day for the regions’s beef producers

BEEF producers across the East Midlands will have the opportunity next month to see first hand how one Lincolnshire farmer has progressively improved his beef unit profitability over the last two years.

On Tuesday July 5 Gary Allis from Furze Hill Farm, Bilsby, will showcase his novel open air corral-based rearing system that allows him to finish 700 predominantly black and white bulls a year. The unit is still developing with plans to expand annual output to 1,000 head and install a dedicated cattle handling and weighing system.

Visitors attending the open day will be able to see and discuss the rearing operation with Gary.

The open day at Furze Hill Farm starts at 10am with refreshments.
