Fire fighters lather up cars for charity

People could go along and get their car washed for charity at their local fire station yesterday (Saturday).

Firefighters were picking up sponges and giving motors a good soaping in Billingborough, Kirton, Skegness, Horncastle and Grantham with donations going to The Firefighters Charity.

The charity works to help serving and retired firefighters, fire personnel and their families when they are in need, such as in the case of injury or illness.

Billingborough firefighters did well raising £270 from their car wash, while the men and women at Kirton Fire Station raised £403. Horncastle fire station raised £260.

Kirton fire station tweeted: “Massive thank you to all that attended our car wash. A fantastic total of £403 was made for the firefighters charity.”
