Firefighters fight tree and grass blaze in Gainsborough throughout the night

A tree and grass fire in Gainsborough is currently being dampened down by firefighters after it blazed through the evening.

The fire is believed to have started at 6,45pm yesterday

The fire on Gainsborough Road, had several crews including Humberside, Scunthorpe and Gainsborough and others from across the county fight to put it out.

The fire is believed to have started at 6,45pm yesterday evening (Thursday, June 28).

A fire and rescue spokesman said:"We currently have crews from Binbrook, Lincoln, and Horncastle at the incident. Crews are using water back packs & main jets to damp down."
