Firefighters from across the district attend major blaze in Wrangle

Seven appliances were at the commercial building fire at Lockham Gate at its height.

Nearby residents were initially told to keep their windows closed as smoke plumed from the scene.

Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service said the fire involved a single storey building.

There was fire damage to three steel industrial units, one car, one motor home, and three shipping containers.

The force’s command support unit initially attended the call out at 2.52pm along with crews from Boston, Wainfleet, Leverton, Skegness, Holbeach, and Market Rasen.

They used hose reels, breathing apparatus, and thermal imaging cameras to tackle the fire.

Fire crews were at the scene throughout the day, with Woodhall Spa and Kirton attending as relief crews.

And the fire service put out a tweet at just after midnight saying Skegness Fire remained at the scene monitoring hot spots.
