Emergency services have been attending the scene.

Lincs Fire and Rescue Tweeted out earlier: “We’ve been dealing with numerous flooding calls - 2 pumps and 1 high volume pump in Spalding and 2 pumps in Kirton assisting residents.”

Residents are reporting water going into homes, manhole covers lifted and drains unable to cope with the amount of water.

Chris Woods wrote on the Boston Flood Warnings (Lincolnshire) Facebook page: “Kirton is flooded on A16 London road high street and school plz avoid the area if possible.”

Lincolnshire County Council have also Tweeted out advice.

It is understood both schools in the village are affected.
