Former Gainsborough schoolgirl who tricked lover into believing she was a man with sex toy is back in court

Kyran Lee, 26, was placed on the sex offenders’ register back in 2013 banning him from using an alias without informing police.

But in July 2015, while still awaiting sentence for his original offence, Lee used the name Malik Khan to set up an online profile and through that name became involved in an online relationship with a woman.

Leanne Summers, prosecuting, told Lincoln Crown Court that the woman, who never met Lee, contacted police about the deceit after publicity regarding Lee’s original offence when Lee was sentenced in December 2015.

Miss Summers said: “The defendant accepted he had not notified police of the name of Malik Khan. He said that when he set up the profile in that name it was so that his ex-partner would not know he was using online dating.”

The court was told that Lee also obtained a passport without notifying police as he was required to do.

Lee, 26, of Baines Road, Gainsborough, admitted two charges of failing to comply with the notification requirements of the sex offenders’ register on dates between July 2015 and February 2016. He was given a 12 month community order with 120 hours of unpaid work.

Judge Michael Heath, passing sentence, told him: “Purporting to be a man you have deceived a number of women as to you identity in a way which is wholly reprehensible.

“There was no physical contact with this woman and no charge arising out of the relationship with her in the sense of any touching.”

David Stanton, defending, said Lee, who is undergoing gender reassignment, did not realise that he was in breach of the order.

He said that Lee never met the woman and later ended contact as he formed a new relationship.

The original sex offenders’ registration order was imposed after Lee, who at the time was living as a woman, met a 24-year-old on Facebook using the fictitious name, Joey G Star Crislow.

The pair had a year long internet relationship before meeting up and going to bed together.

The previous court hearing was told that Lee remained fully clothed in bed and used a sex toy to trick the victim into believing she was having sex with a man.

Lee admitted a charge of assault by penetration as a result of what happened between them in the autumn of 2012.

He was given a two year jail sentence suspended for two years with an indefinite restraining order banning contact with the victim.
