The scheme enables residents to recycle their unwanted items such as clothes, shoes, handbags, belts, curtains, towels and bed linen by putting them in the red textile bag next to their blue and green recycling boxes for collection.

Councillor Neil Poole, cabinet member for Neighbourhoods at North Lincolnshire Council, said: “The competition is a great way to raise awareness of the scheme and show people just what you can put in your red textile bag. If you are thinking of having a good old clear out in your wardrobe, don’t forget you can recycle them without leaving the house. It couldn’t be simpler.”

If you do not have any red recycling textiles bags, you can request these online at North Lincolnshire Council or telephone the council’s customer contact centre on 01724 297000.
