Four people injured in crash on A16 in Algarkirk

Four people were injured, one seriously, after a two-car crash on the A16 in Algarkirk.

A Ford Fiesta and a Volkswagen Golf collided at about 5pm on Tuesday and four people were taken to hospital, one of whom was airlifted to Queen’s Medical Centre, Nottingham.

Two people were taken to Pilgrim Hospital, Boston, and the another casualty to Peterborough City Hospital.

One of the injured was a 24 year-old man who was in the Golf and from the Algarkirk area.

An East Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said: “We received a call yesterday at 5pm to the A16 near Sutterton from where the caller reported a traffic accident involving two cars.

“Several ambulances arrived on scene and were backed up by three responders from LIVES First Responders and a Helimed 29, along with the Police and fire services which also responded.”
