Tom Denton had an early chance for Tigers, but instead of shooting when well-placed he tried to lay the ball across the penalty area to a team mate and the chance was lost.

For the home side, Sam McVicar hit the post from 20 yards then a block from James Cullingworth denied Reuben Wiggins-Thomas.

On 26 minutes the Millers’ pressure told, former Tiger Lee Potts firing home from the penalty spot after Wiggins-Thomas had been brought down by Phil Roe.

Tigers were to suffer a set-back when Roe had to be carried off injured following a robust challenge, to be replaced by Elliott Ackroyd.

Minutes later Worksop were to lose Cullingworth to injury following another heavy challenge, Chis Salt on at centre half with Brad Kilburn moving to right back.

As half-time approached Worksop had a lucky escape when Ben Hallam totally misjudged Josh Thornton’s cross, the ball hitting the post.

Worksop were back in the game six minutes into the second half when the referee awarded a penalty after Nathan Modest was adjudged to have been fouled

Jack Muldoon’s resulting spot kick comfortably beat the former Worksop Town keeper, Martin Kearney.

A Muldoon free-kick brought an excellent save from Kearney, then Brad Kilburn saw his shot deflected into the arms of the ‘keeper.

However, on 65 minutes Carlton regained the lead.

Ellis Wall did well to block Jordan Vilums close range effort, but from the resulting Potts’ corner the unmarked Alex Troke headed home.

As Tigers looked for an equaliser Josh Davies curled an effort just over from 22 yards and Laurence Gaughan headed wide from a corner.

The best chance fell to Millers as Julian Topliss got the better of Ackroyd but was denied by a good save from substitute keeper, Liam Flynn.
