From Grimsby Dock Tower to the Boston Stump: Maxim takes on challenge

Maxim Griffin, 32, will be taking on a strenuous hike from Grimsby Dock Tower, along the east coast, all the way to the Boston Stump.

He will be aiming to complete the challenge over the course of three days (Friday, October 9 to Sunday, October 11) - alongside his former school friend Oliver Pyke, 31.

The pair will be camping with limited supplies during the three day challenge.

Maxim said: “We’ve done a few walks before, including one across the Wolds back in May, but this will be the longest one we’ve done, over the longest timescale. It’s a bit more extreme.

“I’ve spent a great deal of time pacing around and over the Wolds so know the paths very well, and the shifting nature of the coast presents a new environment to walk across - a landscape in flux.”

Maxim, an illustrator, will be documenting his travels through his artwork and hopes to create a book in the future, once his latest challenge has been completed.

The pair will be raising money for Home-Start Easy Lindsey, a local charity that offers support and practical help to struggling families with young children.

Maxim said: “Thank you to all those who have already donated. We have raised a few hundred pounds so far and we hope to raise as much as possible.

“People who like my illustrations online have been very generous already.”
