A full head of steam
The family of a late model railway enthusiast have presented a commemorative headboard to the Gainsborough society which he founded.
The George Hinchcliffe Special headboard was presented to Gainsborough Model Railway Society chairman Richard Woods by George’s widow Janet, son Richard and West Coast Railways. Hundreds of model railway fans visited the society over the Easter weekend to see a collection of locomotives which were built by George.
Mr Woods said: “The family wish the headboard to be displayed at the GMRS, as this is where George Hinchcliffe’s railway life began as a founder member of the Society”.
