Dave Lyall, an official ‘supporter’ of the charity who lives in Louth, has been raising money for the ambucopter since June 2006, when he created the first of his many regular fundraising quizzes.

The quiz sheets were distributed around shops, pubs and workplaces across the county, and participants paid £2 each
to take part.

Within just 18 months, Dave’s fundraising had raised almost £6,500 - and the popular quizzes had spread far beyond the confines of Lincolnshire.

Today, Dave has raised £60,792 and still produces six quizzes a year, personally delivering his quiz sheets over a large part of Lincolnshire.

Dave jokingly said that making the quizzes ‘keeps him out of trouble’, but on a serious note he added: “The air ambulance is there when any of us ever need it - although I hope that we never do.”

Faye Nam, community fundraiser (Lincolnshire) at the air ambulance, said: “David and his wife June are very much loyal supporters of our lifesaving charity.
