Funky makeover spells a new look for Sleaford library

Sleaford Library has undergone a modern makeover inside and out with the sympathetic repainting of the exterior in heritage green and gold as well as the addition of modern new furniture.

The paintwork inside has been refreshed too and by rethinking the layout of the rear of the library, doing away with some unused sections and increasing the teenage fiction shelves, staff have been able to create a comfy seating area alongside the teenage section.

The quiet study area has benefitted from new furniture too, proving very popular with the library’s weekly Crafts and Laughs group.

Kay Ablard, library manager, said: “We are delighted with our new look and have had some lovely comments from customers about how fresh and bright we now look.

“We have had new furniture in our children’s library and the book barge now looks as if it is passing into a tunnel, something the children have been loving to make believe about as they choose their books.

“The changes have also allowed us to increase our adult fiction, crime and children’s book stock which makes the library a great place to go to find your next great read.”
