The event, hosted at Warcop Camp, is without doubt the highlight of the year for the cadets, who have embarked on 10 action-packed days.

Adventurous training is high on the agenda, with abseiling, clay target shooting, archery, raft building and kayaking providing the thrills.

The camp also provides the opportunity for cadets to spend a number of nights living out in the field, learning military tactics and fieldcraft in mock ambush situations.

Bill Thompson, spokesman for Lincolnshire Army Cadet Force, said: “Our cadets will experience a very full programme which is designed to develop and test their skills.

“It really is full on, but the evenings will provide a time to relax and socialise.”
