Free health checks were recently offered in Morrison’s in Gainsborough in order to promote Under The Weather, a national NHS campaign to make older people aware that cold weather doesn’t necessarily have to go hand in hand with illness.

The team of pharmacists and NHS representatives were getting the message across with information packs and first aid kits handed out, but were also giving out simple advice to help the public stay well for the rest of the winter.

Rebecca Neno, Deputy Chief Nurse for Lincolnshire West CCG said: “We would encourage our patients to attend their regular check-ups in order to help prevent serious illnesses developing.”

“For those over the age of 60, at the first sign of feeling unwell, it is always advisable to seek appropriate medical advice.”
