The event will take place on Thursday, November 26, starting at the United Reformed Church, a lantern will be lit at 9am and an official ceremony will be conducted.
In the evening an exclusive candle-lit tour of Gainsborough Old Hall will take place at 6pm.
Places are free to the public, but are very limited so booking is essential. The tour will finish with a glass of mulled cider and nibbles. To book call 01427 677348.
Samantha Mellows, Gainsborough Town Manager, said: “We are delighted to take part in this year’s Illuminate celebrations, along with other Mayflower Compact destinations.
“We are especially excited to offer residents the opportunity to see Gainsborough Old Hall in candle light which will be a really special experience.
“Once the lantern has been lit in the morning it will be taken by foot by students from Queen Elizabeth’s High School to St Swithun’s Parish Church in Retford.”
