Gainsborough: Fund will help children and young people achieve their ambitions

A new fund to benefit children and young people living within the West Lindsey District Council area has been launched.

This fund was derived from a joint investment between the Foundation and The Rural Youth Project in Market Rasen.

Funds are available to groups and individuals to help young people aged eight to 17-years-old, but with a focus on the teenage years, and grants will be made to promote positive activities and help young people achieve their goals and ambitions.

Grants of between £50 and £500 are available. Grants may be for the costs for equipment, visits and events, training and accreditation or running costs for community groups, including small emergency shortfalls. Some funds may also be made available to individuals.

The deadlines for receipt of applications are on March 15, June 15, September 15, and December 15, in each year. Decisions will be notified within a month of the closing date.

If you are involved in running a voluntary group, in West Lindsey, that provides services or activities for children and young people, then why not contact them for an informal chat.

The project anticipates providing small grants to local community groups, including parish councils, youth groups, sports organisations and schools. This may also be an opportunity for families suffering hardship to improve their own children’s lives.
