Gainsborough: Man accused of robbery is remanded in custody

A 34-year-old man who is accused of carrying out a series of robberies was remanded in custody when he appeared before Lincoln Crown Court on Monday, January 18.

Darren Nicholls, of no fixed address, but originally from the Gainsborough area, spoke only to confirm his identity during the hearing which was carried out via a video link.

Recorder Martine Kushner adjourned the case for a further hearing at Lincoln Crown Court which will take place on Friday, March 11, and remanded Nicholls in custody until then

Nicholls faces two charges of robbery and a further charge of an attempted robbery.

He is alleged to have carried out a robbery at the Otters Bridge Service Station near Saxilby on August 13, last year.

Nicholls is also charged with a robbery in Market Street, Gainsborough on September 21, and also an attempted robbery at McColls on Spital Terrace, Gainsborough, on September 13.
