It has also arranged the Lincoln BIG Mini Day for many years on behalf of Lincoln Business Improvement Group.

The day will be a great opportunity for people to have a look at the wonderful cars on show, and maybe even spend some time reminiscing and telling stories about their own Mini history.

The Mini has been an iconic British car since the 1960s when it was propelled to worldwide fame for its starring role in the car chase in the classic film The Italian Job, starring Michael Caine.

Coun Owen Bierley, chair of the council’s prosperous communities Committee said: “The Mini Day will be a fantastic opportunity for people young and old to come and have a closer look at some of these wonderful cars.

Mike James, Trent Valley MOC club leader added: “We hope the Gainsborough Mini Day will become an annual event .”

“So if you have a Mini you would like to enter please come along and enjoy the fun.”

Entrants must be at the Market Place by 10am and will be parked in position on arrival.

The day will end at around 4pm.

Trent Valley MOC meets at the Ingram Arms in Laughton at 8pm on the third Wednesday of every month.
