Gainsborough: New weekday bus service to Doncaster is confirmed
In 2013 the Gainsborough Rail and Bus User’s Group (GRaB) surveyed the people of Gainsborough and discovered there was a demand for a bus to Doncaster.

The success of this service has now led to a new weekday service.
This service will also serve Misterton and be single deck operated.

Hide AdBuses coming from Gainsborough first serve West Stockwith, then pass under the railway on Fox Covert Lane, turn at Grange Avenue to return to Newell’s Corner where the bus will continue through Misterton to Doncaster via Gringley, Everton and Bawtry.
But GRaB are still campaigning for more bus improvements for the town.
Last September GRaB asked West Lindsey District Council if they could provide kick start funding for a third town bus route serving the Leisure Centre, Corringham Road, Lea Road Station and Lea Green.

Last month the council appointed a transport consultant to advise them on rural transport and GRaB have submitted ideas to them for restoring the route.
However the consultant’s brief does not include the third town bus service.

Hide AdGRaB will now look to other sources of funding for the third town bus service and discuss the matter further with Stagecoach.
Barry Coward of GRaB said: “We encourage folks to use the new 98 bus to Doncaster as it is a commercial service and will be withdrawn if it is not used by enough passengers.”
