He is best known for his crime novel series featuring detectives Cooper and Fry, set in the Peak District. The series, currently in its thirteenth instalment, is published around the world and has been translated into 15 languages. It has won Mr Booth fame as one of Britain’s best crime writers, as well as a number of awards.

“It was wonderful to have Stephen visit and everyone enjoyed hearing about his writing methods,” said Georgina Carr, cultural services advisor at the library.
