Gainsborough nurseries urged to take part in the Barnardo's Big Toddle

Barnardo’s have said a big thank you to children’s nurseries in Gainsborough after they helped to raise £1,128 last year having fun by holding pirate themed Big Toddles last summer.
And the children’s charity is now asking nurseries, child-minders and parents to register to take part in this year’s animal-themed Big Toddle, which will be extra special as it will mark the Barnardo’s 150th anniversary.

Barnardo’s Big Toddle is a short sponsored walk for toddlers and is the UK’s biggest fund-raising event with children under the age of five, with close to half a million across the country registering in 2015.
Last year, toddlers in Gainsborough dressed up as pirates and donned eye patches as they completed half a mile to raise money for the UK’s most disadvantaged children and young people.
Amanda Warrant, Barnardo’s fund-raising manager, said: “We’re really grateful for the great support we’ve had from Gainsborough toddlers and their families over the years.
“The event is a lovely opportunity for everyone to enjoy themselves and help raise vital funds for vulnerable children at the same time.

“Money raised goes to our work in the local area with children and young people, such as those who live in poverty or who have a disability.
“This is also a really special year for the charity, as it’s our 150th year.
“We’re really excited so many people are taking part our animal theme Big Toddle, and we’re hoping more people will sign up to join in the fun.”
Barnardo’s Big Toddle in 2016 is proudly sponsored by Aldi’s award-winning baby and toddler brand, Mamia.
