Gainsborough Old Hall has seen more than 550 Christmases since it was built around 1460.

But it’s the 19th century that makes a welcome return this yuletide.

A whole host of Victorian characters will descend on the hall this November for its yearly fair of traditional crafts.

Accompanied by a roaring fire, warming punch, seasonal music and festive decorations, more than 70 artisans will sell unique handmade gifts with a decidedly bygone feel.

“The Victorian Craft Fair is your annual opportunity to visit this medieval manor house in all its festive glory”, said Theresa Workman, collections access officer.

“A whole host of the region’s most talented artists and craftsmen, dressed in Victorian attire, will get you into the seasonal mood and unveil their handiwork, which will make for the perfect Christmas gifts.”

The Victorian Christmas Craft Fair takes place at Gainsborough Old Hall from 10am until 5pm on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th November.

Entry to the fair is £1 and stalls will vary on each day.
