Gainsborough: Services team up for a community action day

West Lindsey District Council is once again teaming up with Lincolnshire Police and Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue Service for a day of targeted community action in Gainsborough.

Residents are invited to drop into the mobile office in the Ashcroft Road car park on Monday 17th November from 2pm to 7pm.

The unit will be manned by the police as well as several teams from the council including localism, anti-social behaviour, waste management, home choices and health. They will be joined by the fire service and Lincolnshire County Council.

It is an opportunity for residents to find out more about what services are available to them and about any issues, ideas and concerns they may have.

Coun Judy Rainsforth, who will be involved in the day, said: “We need the community to communicate with us so that we can ensure services meet their needs and we have the right information to shape delivery and action.”

“This mobile unit allows us to bring support directly into the locality and give residents access to officers. “

“So please come along and find out more about what is available and have your say.”

“Together we can make a difference.”

Activities on the day will include promoting the LincsAlert scheme to provide residents with updates from the local policing team, distributing property marking packs and UV pens, home Fire Safety checks and fire prevention advice, visiting empty homes and advising owners how they can bring them back into use, advice on weight and health issues, advice on issues such as drugs, alcohol and positive sexual health practices and and help and advice from the GP referral exercise team. The council’s waste vehicles will also be in the area to dispose of unwanted large items.
