The Gainsborough Business Awards have returned for the fifth year to celebrate the wealth of talent in the area.

The event has proven to be a great success in the recent years and the event organisers, Langleys Solicitors, are already accepting applications for this year’s awards.

The awards are a great opportunity to celebrate the best and raise the business profile, meet with old friends and to give your employees a well deserved pat on the back.

Last year, a record number of entries were received from local businesses and this year’s awards are expected to be just as electric, with businesses competing for the top spot in seven different categories.

The Award organisers, Langleys Solicitors in Lincoln, have recently announced some exciting changes to the awards.

For the first time, a new category of “Apprentice of the Year” will be introduced to the awards, which will be sponsored by Gainsborough College.

Danielle Lister from Langleys said: “There is a lot of young talent in the area, which we want to recognise and celebrate.”

“The awards have gone from strength to strength and introducing a new category will allow this to continue.”

Langleys are also delighted to confirm Ping as a new sponsor, who will sponsor the Outstanding Contribution to the Community Award.

They will join the existing sponsors Freewatt, Gainsborough College, The Gainsborough Standard, Ideafuel Creative, Langleys Solicitors LLP, West Lindsey District Council and Wright Vigar.

Other sponsors include the White Heather and The Florist.

Gainsborough businesses have until 15th August to get their applications in.

And the winners will be announced at a black-tie evening which is being held at the White Heather near Caenby Corner on 18th September.

Last year’s Business of the Year award went to Regal Manufacturing, a manufacturer of electrical and mechanical motion control products.

Other winners included Home-Start, ParkAcre Enterprises Limited, Stride Safety Limited, Ermine Farms Limited, Emmalooos and Julian Patrick of FreeWatt, who won Business Person of the Year.
