Pupils in years 4, 5 and 6 at Ruskington's Chestnut Street School were learning how to grow vegetables in their after-school garden club up until the end of term.

The produce is then sold on to provide funds for future seeds and pots. Under the leadership of Elizabeth Webster and a group of helpers, they have been learning how vegetables grow and other important skills, including weeding.

The school has benefitted from donations by local groups, including the Rotary Club of Sleaford Kesteven who provided garden tools such as spades, forks and hand trowels. Sleaford and District Lions Club donated a greenhouse, Parker’s Anwick Garden Centre provided soil and compost and Buildbase donated the wooden bordering and slabs.
