The festival is now in its fifth year, and the volunteer committee is dedicated to creating and supporting memorable cultural events this year between Friday June 17 and Sunday July 3.

Acting chair, Nicki Jarvis, has high hopes for the 2016 event and said: “The hugely successful Party in the Pews will once again light the blue touch paper for the festival, showcasing local dance schools and young musicians. There will also be a special Party in the Pews Choirs event this year.

“We’ll be bringing back Vintage Day in the Cornmarket, which was such a wow in 2013 and 2014. The Music Weekend will return, after a great launch in 2015, and we are working on other key events, including comedy nights. The festival depends entirely on sponsorship, and local businesses were very generous last year.

“We’re confident we can deliver another great festival in 2016 with their continued support.”

Alan Mumby, vice chair, added: “Zero Degrees was founded on the principle of promoting the great creative and cultural activities which take place in Louth all year round.

“We see the festival as an umbrella event, helping promote everything, from sport, dance and film to music and literature. Anyone that wants to be included in our brochure and website, and benefit from our social media campaign, should get in touch with us before Monday April 4.”
