Gladys celebrates her 100th

A MALTBY resident celebrated turning 100 last week with some very special visitors.

Gladys West, who lives at Queen’s Care Centre, was visited by local dignitaries and school children to help mark her centenary.

The celebrations kicked of when Maltby Redwood Junior School choir visited and sang a number of carols for Mrs West.

Later in the day, deputy Mayor of Rotherham Coun David Pickering and deputy Mayoress Sue Pickering presented a gift to her.

Coun Keith Duckmanton, vice chairman of Maltby Town Council, along with Coun Jenny Andrews and Coun Keith Stringer also visited the care home to give Mrs West a card and bouquet of flowers.
