Going pink for charity

Children at Ryton Park Primary School had to think pink last month to raise money for Cancer Research.

Over 530 children took part in the Think Pink day where they managed to raise £500 through being dressed all in pink and taking part in a special raffle with all pink prizes.

Administration staff at the school helped to organise the Think Pink day which has been running for the last five years.

Office administrator Vicky Dashper said the school had an amazing day again this year.

“The children really went to town getting dressed up in pink, even the boys!” she said.

“The teachers got dressed up too and even donned pink wigs which the children love.”

All of the prizes in the Think Pink raffle such as pink sweets, jewellery and toiletries were donated by members of staff except for the top prize of an hour in a pink limousine which is donated every year by Limousines 4 U. Vicky said: “All the children want to win the limousine prize and we want to thank Limousines 4 U for donating every year because we wouldn’t be able to raise as much money without them.”

Ryton Park Primary School donated the total of £500 to Worksop Cancer Research.
