The event was again held at Woodthorpe and over £1,200 was raised for the Britsh Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
Once more, Staff Sergeant Pete Rogers and WO-2 Alan Brooks had their clubs at the ready to putt 18-holes round the golf course as quickly as possible.
After running round the whole course, the duo clocked a time of 1 hour, four minutes and 22 seconds, just a few minutes shy of beating the time they achieved last year.
The fun then went into the night with local woman Glenda Fern organising an evening of entertainment.
From the £1,200 that was raised, the golf duo brought in £478 and Glenda’s evening event raised £758.
Poppy Appeal organiser Mark Reddin said: “I would just like to say a big thank you to Pete and Alan for again agreeing to do the golf challenge for us, and to Glenda for all the hard work and effort she put in to organise the event in the evening, which was very well attend.
“Also, we must give a very special mention to Woodthorpe Hall for letting us host our events there again this year. It is greatly appreciated and truly helps us to raise such an amazing amount of money for the Poppy Appeal.”
