The money was raised at the Seniors Pairs Open, where students and staff served refreshments, which were much appreciated by the 100 players taking part.

The cheque was presented by senior captain, Bryan Utteridge and vice-captain John Wallis to students and Head of St Lawrence School, Michelle Hockham, who said: “We are really grateful to the seniors for not only picking our school but also for allowing our students the experience of providing refreshments for the event.

“The presentation of this money has helped us to be in touching distance of this year’s funding goal of £10,000 for improvements to our outdoor spaces.”
