Riding on three static bikes in the lobby of Boundary Mill at Gonerby Moor, South Lincs Cystic Fibrosis and fund-raisers are collecting funds for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

The Trust uses funds to raise awareness of the genetic condition for research into a cure and to provide practical help to sufferers. There are 10,500 people in the UK with Cystic Fibrosis.

Their goal is to reach 5,825 miles, the distance to Rio. They have to return the bikes by Wednesday, September 28, and have so far managed more than 3,000 miles.

If you have any time to spare between now and 7pm on Tuesday drop into the Boundary Mill entrance at Downtown and have a go. If you can’t help with the cycle ride but would like to make a donation, collection boxes can be found at the store.

Sarah Tucker at Cystic Fibrosis said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to Boundary Mill, our cycle donors and everyone who has helped raise funds and cover the miles so far. I’d also like to take this opportunity to thank the wonderful Community nurses at Grantham Hospital who provide support on a daily basis to local Cystic Fibrosis sufferers.

“We are also selling some other items in store to help raise fund - pin badges, wristbands and bags. The duck pin badges are of special significance. Ducks were the favourite animal of a dear group member who we lost recently to the condition.”
