Grantham court: Defendant's good progress sees community order revoked

Chris Payne, of the Lincolnshire Probation Service, put an application forward before Grantham magistrates on Monday, to revoke the 12-month supervised community order against Simon Chambers, 44, of Pethley Lane, Pointon.

The order had been imposed by Lincoln Magistrates’ Court on April 16 for a public order offence committed on October 31, 2014.

Mr Payne outlined how Chambers had received support from their mental health team and had been attending self-help groups, where he had built up a supportive network of friends as well as attending his one-to-one appointments.

In addition, said Mr Payne, Chambers had impressed his employer to the extent that he gone from part-time to full-time work, and had also been informed that there was the potential of a promotion.

Mr Payne added: “He is being very proactive in saving to get the cash to help him and his children to move on to the property ladder.”

Chambers was also praised for maintaining full contact with his case manager throughout.

Grantham magistrates approved the application to revoke the community order. Chair magistrate Ian McDonnell said: “Well done. We are happy to revoke this order and we hope you can continue getting on with your life.”
