Grants help local groups

Rotherham Federation of Tenants and Residents has awarded sixteen Rotherham tenants and residents associations £3,383 of small grants.

The activities supported included a beginners computer class, an environmental educational session, a family treasure hunt and theatre visits.

There was a lot of interest in the grants, which were from £100 to £350, with applications from groups keen to organise activities to bring communities together.

Rotherfed development manager Steve Ruffle said: “Though small, these grants can make a big difference in our communities and people’s lives, enabling people to come together and do things together.”
