Guided tours and free concert at Heckington church for Heritage Open Days

St Andrew's Church in Heckington is once again taking part in the Lincolnshire Heritage Open Days programme this coming weekend (September 8 to 11) '“ with the theme of '˜Natural Lincolnshire.'

There will be free guided tours, under the expert leadership of the church’s own guiding team.

Places on the tours for Thursday and Friday can be pre booked by telephoning 01529 460306. Free tours will also be running from 11am to 4pm on Saturday and 1pm to 4pm on Sunday with no booking required.

Refreshments are also available on all days.

There is a free musical concert on Saturday at 7pm in the church, of organ, choir and instrumental music through the ages. There is no need to book, you can just turn up.

Throughout the weekend there will also be an art and photography display and a children’s trail too.

Andrew Key, chairman of the St Andrew’s Heritage and Tourism Group said: “We are so pleased to be involved again in this programme of Heritage Open Days, designed to be accessible to all, free of charge and an ideal way to find out more about the history that is quite literally on our own doorstep.”
