Harworth: A reformed alcoholic has been disqualified from driving after she was caught drink driving

A reformed alcoholic, who hadn’t drunk since 1998, has been disqualified from driving after she was caught drink driving.

Christine Joyce Van Oorschot, 65, of Grange View, Harworth, had consumed 63 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.

The court heard how Van Oorschot made the decision to drink after an argument with her husband and had driven to her son’s house.

Van Oorschot was fined £240, £24 victim surcharge, £85 costs and £150 criminal court charges.

She was also disqualified from driving for 17 months, which will be reduced by 18 weeks if she completes a drink driving rehabilitation course.
