Have your say on wind farm

WEST Lindsey District Council has extended the deadline for people to respond to a planning application for a wind farm at Hemswell Cliff.

RWE npower Renewables LTD has applied to build ten wind turbines with maximum heights of 126.5m each.

The project is classed as a ‘major’ development by the authority, and is the first of its kind in the district.

As a result, the council’s consultation deadline has been extended from 21 days to 35 days for residents and 42 days for parish councils.

Letters have been sent to 1,200 residents and businesses within a four kilometre radius of the site.

“We have consulted more people than normal and extended the consultation period to give as many people that will be affected by this proposal as possible to respond,” said Suzanne Fysh, head of service developments and neighbourhoods at the council.

“I want to take this opportunity to remind everyone that only planning considerations can be taken into account and these are called ‘material considerations’.”
