Haxey thief given community order after stealing bacon

A Haxey man appeared before North Lincolnshire Magistrates Court this week facing a number of charges.

Owen Lindop, 19, of The Meadows, Carr Lane, pleaded guilty to five separate theft charges.

The first took place on November 2 at Epworth Co-op when he stole eight tins of sweets valued at £40, the following day he has also stole packets of bacon valued at £30 from the same Market Place store.

On November 7 he stole Lynx gift sets worth £60 from the One Stop Shop in Epworth and on the same day, four tins of Haribo sweets valued at £24 from Epworth Co-op.

Finally on November 16 he returned to the One Stop Shop and stole various chocolate confectionary worth £64.

He received a 12 month community order which means he must carry out 100 hours of unpaid work. Lindop was ordered to pay a total of £337 compensation, and costs of £85.
